Description
Releases a line of force from the caster, with an optional melee attack that adds damage and leaves the target worse off on its save.
You channel a massive amount of energy through your weapon, releasing it in a devastating strike of force. As you cast this spell, you can choose to make a melee attack with the weapon used, as part of the action, against a creature within your reach.
If you make the attack: the target hit takes the weapon’s normal damage plus 2d8 Force damage. In addition, the target creature has disadvantage on this spell’s
saving throw (described below).
If you do not make the attack: you simply release the energy in its raw form.
Regardless of whether you made an attack, or of whether it hit, a wake of force 18 metres long and 1.5 metres wide erupts from you. Each creature in the area (including the target of the attack, if there was one) must make a
Dexterity
saving throw. A creature takes 5d8 Force damage if it fails, or half as much if it succeeds.
At higher levels
With a higher-level spell slot. The damage (both the initial attack’s and the line’s) increases by 1d8 Force for each level above 3.
